Assaulted reporter Lara Logan recovering well
The 60 Minutes reporter, victim of a sustained and brutal beating and sexual assault by a crowd of 200 demonstrators in Egypt, is recovering well in a US hospital, after being rescued by a group of women and Egyptian soldiers. Her friends have spoken out saying she is "unbelievably strong" and is determined to get back to work.
Fellow journalists Anderson Cooper and Lisa Ling have voiced their support, but a New York University staff member and freelance journalist has sparked outrage after inflammatory tweets calling her " a warmonger". Nir Rosen also posted that she was trying to "outdo Anderson Cooper" (who was bashed by demonstrators), and that it would have been funny if Cooper had been sexually assaulted as well. He has since apologised for the comments.
